The STP 65 Container is the 7th out of 8 Container´s designed by judel/vrolijk & co,built in 2008 to the requirements of the STP65 box rule class. Container successfullycompleted the 2009 and 2010 racing seasons, before her first modification in 2010, later in the year the decision was made to build a new TP 52 Container to replace the STP 65 on the race courses around the Mediterranean. Experiencing the difficult 2nd hand race boat market, the owner decided to give a second chance to the STP 65. By consulting the judel/vrolijk & co office, the boat was modified from a pure racer to a incentive day sailor. The key point of the modification was to keep the race boat feeling but at the same time make it possible for a limited crew to sail with amateurs for incentive events. To achieve this a light interior was added as well as electrical winches, a more moderate deck layout and finally the sail plan was adopted. This example of a second live for a pure race boat brings down j/v ´s experience to a point where the knowledge about cruising boats meets the racing world. In the future judel/vrolijk & co brokerage will work as a link between the race boat owners and the future clients who might be looking at a different usage profile for their 2nd hand project.
