For more than 45 years now, judel/ vrolijk & co has not only distinguished itself through its consistently successful regatta yachts, which can be found in the foremost places in almost all major regattas in the world, but has also become a leading address in the field of fast cruising yachts as well as faster motor boats and series boats established internationally.
The wide range of competencies in-house is unique, ranging from design and layout to naval architecture, advanced 3D modeling and milling geometry preparation to FE (finite element) supported structure calculations and CFD (computational fluid dynamics) based speed forecasts. The essential areas of yacht development are covered and thus allow all aspects of a design to be optimally coordinated.

CFD - Computer Fluid Dynamics
To maintain and expand our technological lead, we rely on the latest computer and software technology, extensive research and development work, and a careful and individual approach. This resulted in successes in the Americas Cup, ORCi, IRC, the Mini Maxi class, and box rules such as the TP52.
FEM - Finite Elemente Methode
With the FE method, the component to be calculated is modeled from many small connected (finite) elements. The reactions of the individual elements under the action of a load and their mutual influence give the engineer information about the actual deformation and stress behavior of the entire system.
FEM is used in the calculation of complex component geometries and/or laminate structures in order to optimize them according to weight, strength, or rigidity. In the construction of large sailing yachts in particular, questions arise that cannot be solved with sufficient accuracy without the use of FEM.

When designing our production yachts, we keep an eye on the production process at all times. This not only applies to the development of the tools, but also to the finished product. Thus, an optimal solution between cost and quality is achieved without neglecting sailing properties, safety, and comfort.
Shipyards such as Baltic Yachts from Finland, Najad Varvet from Sweden, and Hanse Yachts AG in Greifswald are among our customers, along with many other shipyards.
From a hand sketch to reality
In addition to classic "naval architecture" and construction, judel / vrolijk & co design + engineering GmbH also takes care of all aesthetic and ergonomic aspects of their designs. In our in-house design studio, we also work on a wide range of projects for external customers.
Creating a unique and personalized environment.
The interior is often the most personal area of a yacht. Together with the customer, we work out a very individual design that fits their wishes and ideas and meets all requirements - whether spectacular and modern or more traditional and natural. And regardless of whether it is a private yacht for a single customer or a passenger ship that is supposed to appeal to a large number of people.
